Why do I need a mortgage advisor if I can do it on my own?
Of course, you can try to do it on your own, but in most cases, people make small mistakes that can end up costing them a lot in the long run. For example, choosing the wrong plan or not negotiating properly with the bank could lead to unnecessary payments of hundreds of thousands of shekels. A professional mortgage advisor brings expertise that prevents critical mistakes and ensures you choose the plan that’s best for you. My clients have saved an average of 25-30 times the cost of my services, and they feel secure knowing they made the best decisions.
On the contrary—the cost of my services is an investment that pays for itself very quickly. Instead of paying high amounts to the bank over the years, I help you choose a plan that reduces costs and saves you hundreds of thousands of shekels. In simple terms, the fee for my services is small compared to the huge savings you’ll benefit from in the long term. My clients often say that the savings they achieved made the cost of the consultation a smart and worthwhile investment.
I don’t promise savings based on guesses—I promise savings based on a deep analysis of your documents and the offers from the banks. With my knowledge and experience negotiating with the banks, I can almost always improve the terms. If I don’t see an opportunity to improve your offer, I’ll tell you upfront—but most of my clients are surprised to learn how much money they can save.
The banks are looking out for themselves—their profits. They offer deals based on their own interests, which isn’t always what’s best for you. As an independent advisor, I work solely for you—not the bank. That means my interest is to secure you the best possible terms.
Many of my clients first went to the bank to get a pre-approval, thinking they could handle it on their own. The first problem they encountered was the difficulty in comparing approvals from different banks! Each bank presents things differently and offers various plans. I’ll organize everything for you, breaking it down so you can understand what the bank offered. Then we’ll compare it to what I can get for you. In every case so far, I’ve been able to secure much better results!
Every mortgage advisor works differently, and not all of them understand the specific needs of Olim like I do. Thanks to my experience working with English-speaking Olim, I understand the unique challenges you face and can secure personalized terms that other Hebrew-speaking advisors might not offer.

“I’d like to recommend Yoel Mentzen to help you save money on your mortgage. When I originally got my mortgage I went with a mortgage broker, so I thought I had a good loan, but Yoel saved me tens of thousands of shekels! Yoel sat with me, explained his financial analysis, and showed me how he could save me a lot of money by combining my loans and refinancing at a lower rate. Now my mortgage will end years earlier and at far less cost than before! And, most importantly, he’s a stand-up, honest guy whose motivation is simple and good – he doesn’t want people taken advantage of by the banks!”

“We were first time buyers with very little understanding of what it means to buy a home (especially in Israel). We did a little research before we met with Yoel, just enough to know that he knew what he was talking about. He was very willing and patient, taking the time to help us find the best mortgage, but also walking us through the process so we understood what we were doing. There are many steps, but he made it as easy and straightforward as possible. We had a few challenges as a couple- including receiving Olah benefits, being an American citizen, my husband receives several salaries including scholarships from his University ,plus I am part salaried and part freelancer. We explained our needs at our first meeting and he worked out the best conditions for us. We never had to talk to a bank until we signed. He always spoke in a relaxed and positive manner, making a fairly stressful experience quite manageable. You have to rely on many people when purchasing a home in Israel-brokers, lawyers, appraisers and engineers. We trusted Yoel the most and knew he always had our interests first, and he loves saving people money!!! Thanks Yoel 😊”

“I got Yoel’s number from a colleague after sharing my concerns about the mortgage process—the complexity, the amount of paperwork the bank required, and how every mistake could be costly. I was especially worried because, although I work part-time as a salaried employee, I also receive a scholarship, and I thought there was a good chance the bank wouldn’t approve our mortgage. The first thing Yoel did was to reassure me and my partner, Zoe. He stayed in close contact with us and explained everything we needed to know, including how to provide the full information the bank needed. He also helped us apply for new Oleh rights and plan the most suitable mortgage tracks for us. In the end, he handled all the negotiations with the banks, got us great terms during a tough economic time, and saved us half a million shekels in total repayments, which is a huge amount! Not to mention the time he saved us and the peace of mind we gained. I have so many more compliments, but there isn’t enough space on this page—long story short, I highly recommend Yoel! Thanks, Yoel.”
